Smile

It's not the same,
The happiness and laughter,
The conversations and uncomplicated ease.

I know things are different,
I'm not what you wanted,
I'm not who you need anymore.

But smile, dear, smile for me.
Smile for our past, for what we could have been.
Smile for me, m'dear. Smile.

Release the breath, hold onto the memories,
Without them, without those; it was all for nothing.
But I am... Sorry, I mean. I'm so, so sorry.

So smile, dear. Smile for me.
Remember our ease, what we had before.
Smile for me, m'dear. Smile.
